Glyco Fix – more

Glyco-Fix

There are two books, “Miracle Sugars” and “Sugars That Heal” which offer a wealth of information regarding the benefits of glyconutrients in relationship to specific diseases and in giving the cells of the body what it needs in each individual situation. The following info is an introduction about glyconutrients.

“The more glyconutrients we can directly supply to the body, the more raw materials it has to work with to rebalance our immune networks, help drive our energy pathways, help sweep up dangerous oxidants, and control the sophisticated cellular reactions that determine whether we are healthy or sick. When given the right tools, the human body has an enormous capacity to correct and heal itself. Each cell needs all of the essential sugars. The fewer the body has to convert on its own, the faster its reaction time for promoting and maintaining health.” Rita Elkins M.H. “Miracle Sugars”

What can Glyconutrients do for you

  • •Immune system boosting
  • •Balances overactive or underactive Immune Systems
  • •Decreases inflammation in diseases like rheumatoid arthritis
  • •Improves resistance in weakened individuals
  • •Assists in renewing cells and can affect the working of the brain, the nervous system
  • •Antioxidant boosting to reduce free radicals
  • •Assists with chemotherapy side effects (mitigating toxic effects of radiation)
  • •Activates immune T-cell activity only when invaders or antigens are present.
  • •Excellent nourishment directly at the cellular level
  • •Affects the daily repair of body tissues
  • •Helps maintain bone density and muscle mass
  • raise good cholesterol HDL – and lowers triglyerides (LDL)

What are Glyconutrients?

Glyconutrients contain a blend of 8 naturally occurring sugars, specific carbohydrates called saccharides, and they are found in certain plants. Cells communicate with each other by way of these plant sugars called glycoproteins. Two of these sugars are glucose and galactose often found in foods we eat. However the other sugars Mannose, Fucose, Xylose, N-Acetylglucosamine, N-Acetylgalactosamine, and N-Acetylneuraminic acid are difficult to find in our daily diet. These saccharides offer ~

MANNOSE

* Prevents bacterial, viral, parasitic and fungal infections

* Eases inflammation in rheumatoid arthritis

* Lupus patients are deficient in this saccharide

* Lowers blood sugar and triglyceride levels in diabetic patients

GALACTOSE

* Enhances wound healing

* Increases calcium absorption

* Triggers long-term memory formation

FUCOSE

* Influences brain development

* Improves brain’s ability to create long term memories

* Inhibits tumor growth

* Metabolism of this saccharide is abnormal in cystic fibrosis, diabetes, and cancer and during episodes of shingles, which is caused by the herpes virus

* Active against other herpes viruses, including herpes I and cytomegalovirus

* Guards against respiratory infections

* Inhibits allergic reactions

GLUCOSE

* Potent fast-energy source

* Enhances memory

* Stimulates calcium absorption

* Too much or too little can be problematic

* Elderly Alzheimer’s patients register much lower levels of this saccharide than those with organic brain disease from stroke or other vascular diseases

* Glucose metabolism disturbed in depression, manic-depression, anorexia and bulimia

XYLOSE

* Antibacterial and antifungal

* May help prevent cancer of the digestive tract

N-ACETYLGALACTOSAMINE

* Heart disease patients have lower-than-normal levels of this saccharide

* Inhibits spread of tumor – XYLOSE

* Antibacterial and antifungal

* May help prevent cancer of the digestive tract

N-ACETYLGLUCOSAMINE

* Immune modulator with anti tumor properties and activity against HIV

* Vital to learning

* Glucosamine, a metabolic product of this saccharide

* Helps repair cartilage

* Decreases pain and inflammation

* Increases range of motion

* May also help repair mucosal-lining defensive barrier implicated in Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis and interstitial cystitis

N-ACETYLNEUROMINIC ACID

* Important for brain development and learning

* Abundant in breast milk

* Repels bacteria, virus and other pathogens

How Do Glyconutrients Work?

Our bodies are an accumulation of billions of cells, which must work together.

When ESSENTIAL sugars are taken, they bind themselves to cell receptor sites located on the surface of cell membranes. As these cells roam they communicate by touching each other passing on messages. It’s at this point that the immune system is able to activate macrophages and other cells of the immune system to perform their innate function of protecting the being that owns these cells.”

Natural Killer cells and macrophages are among the wide array of immune system cells that patrol the body looking for difficulties. When a problem has been identified, a cellular defense team is summoned in the form of messenger molecules, which initiate the immune response.

Healthy Cells = Healthy tissues = Healthy Organs = Healthy Bodies

The reason mothers are encouraged to breast feed their children, is that breast milk provides 5 of the 8 essential saccharides; giving babies a healthier immune start in this world.

Some glyconutrients specialize in certain plant saccharides, i.e. glucosamine offers joint relief; and mannose is one of the polysaccharides coming from the aloe vera plant, offering quick healing benefits to damaged tissue.
